THIS IS HOW YOU CAN EARN INCOME AS A KENYAN YOUTH

The Jubilee government has done us no good in the past few month. The prices of basic commodities has sky-rocketed and the normal Mwananchi is finding it very difficult to sustain their livelihood.

The unemployment figures are increasing at an alarming rate and most Kenyan youth are turning to crime to sustain themselves economically.

Al Jazeera describes Kenya as a ticking time bomb due to the political corruption that is rendering many youths jobless.
Al Jazeera describes Kenyan youth as a ticking time bomb due to Unemployment.

For most of the unemployed Kenyan graduates, all you need is your laptop, some writing skills and your Degree or Masters certificate. So, do not despair and read carefully.
There are a number of credible websites that employ freelance writers and pay them very handsomely.
For one to be considered for the many writing position, you must prove that you are a graduate from a credible university. They will seek your personal information to ascertain the reliability of the information that you provide. You must then pass a grammar test and submit a sample essay based on the instructions given. It is important to study the different types of writing styles such as MLA, APA, Harvard and Chicago before you begin the test. Your vocabulary in the English language has to be above standard.

The HR department of these companies will then evaluate your performance and respond to you in not less than two weeks and not more than one month.
I have friends who are making at least Kshs.200,000 a month from freelance jobs.
They are living comfortably and are pursuing other important things in their lives.

Before you give up, it is important that you try this and see how far it will take you. You might just be surprised.
It is important to have a unique I.P address for the machine you will be applying for the job with. Each laptop has a unique I.P address that is registered by the respective companies that writers apply with. DO NOT use cyber cafes or public chat rooms as they will limit your chances of being considered for the job.

Some of these credible companies include but are not limited to- www.uvocorp.com, www.writerbay.com, www.bluecorpservice.com, and www.essaywriters.net.

Goodluck!

Lupita Nyong'o has made Kenya proud!

LUPITA NYONG'O-A BRIGHT STAR FROM AFRICA.

She is beautiful, smart, talented, a fashion icon and most of all Kenyan. She is on high demand. We are proud as a country to have one of our own represent us well on a popular global platform. Her latest successful feature film, 12 Years a Slave has seen her earn respect and win incredible awards and accolades among her peers in Hollywood and all over the world. She just graduated from Yale and this was her first acting gig in America.
Oprah Winfrey took on twitter and posted one of her favorite pictures of the night at the Broadcast Critics Choice Awards in Santa Monica. Lupita tapped her on her shoulder and acknowledged how inspiring and influential she had been to her while growing up.
Lupita is a well spoken and humble soul. She never forgets to remind her audience that she grew up in Kenya. Her being and character was all nurtured in this beautiful country. She appreciates and praises her mother land for what and who she has become.
She is a good role model to our young women in Africa. She represents hard work and hope for the women of this continent. She is love personified. She is a blessing.
I believe that we need more Lupitas in this world to inspire and guide our young folk.
We cannot wait to see her bag the Oscar Supporting female actress award.

We love her and wish her the very best in her career.
God bless you Lupita!

MOMBASA SEX INDUSTRY-BITTER SWEET-WHO IS TO BLAME?

I was a visitor of the Old town on the shores of the Indian Ocean-in the Coast Province of Kenya. The beaches and the food were breath taking and the people warm and beautiful. When I heard a native talk about the thriving Sex Industry of the town and the prevalence of HIV and AIDS, it saddened me what the government, the culture and the white man and woman have done to this great city that once upheld the greatest values of human life.                 Imagine a father raising his daughter upto the age of fifteen and even younger and releasing her into the world to fend for her family because he cannot afford to do that. OR A mother or a father dies and the young children are left without a provider, the eldest, a girl, takes initiative to take care of her siblings but the only way she can make money is by selling her body.

There's one lady who at the age of fifteen became an orphan and since she had ten siblings to take care of,she had to get a job. She tried so hard and got one as a bar maid but it was on condition that she sleeps with the owner of the bar every night. After a while, she quit because she couldn't take it anymore. She got another job as a bar maid in a different area in Mombasa, the only difference here was that the customers were the clients and the owner, the pimp. With not much to go on and especially with the demands at home, she had to do what it took for her to support her family. This is how she got into prostitution at the age of 16. She knew she could make more money by establishing herself as a prostitute. This beautiful lady started getting rich clients and especially the tourists who visit the town frequently. She has managed to put her Siblings through school with her body and she is ashamed. Honestly, can we blame her?
Today, you walk around the town and see old white men and women coupled with the young men and women of this town.

What happened to our old wise men and women who nurtured integrity and societal values?
What has happened to our government or are we so blinded by the money the industry brings?
What happened to the NGOs that get funding from donors to help prevent the vice of Child Sex and Prostitution?
What happened to our mothers who fought for us when we needed them?
What happened to us and our independence?

I blame the government, the NGOs, the white man, our grand mothers, our grand fathers and anybody else who contributed to the worsening of this ill in society.

May God help us!

KDF HARDSHIP ALLOWANCE-20 BOB

KDF Soldiers get paid a hardship allowance of Kes.20 per day.
Hardship allowance is an additional compensation paid to our forces assigned to Somalia where the living conditions are substantially below those in Kenya.

According to military.com, the USA Armed Forces' rates are paid in increments of ;
-$50-approximately Kes.4,250
-$100-approximately Kes.8,500
-$150-approximately Kes.12,750 a month based on the level of hardship in a given area.
Those in involuntary extension of duty get paid upto $200-approximately Kes 17,000 per month.
If you combine all these hardship compensations based on location, mission and involuntary extension, the maximum total paid to an individual in any month is $1,500-approximately Kes. 127,500.
Of course, you cannot compare the two countries but give me a break,20 bob a day for out brave men and women in Somalia. The thought makes me sick.
Somalia is a desperately poor country with little infrastructure, the weather is erratic with long droughts and flash floods that render the roads impassable even for the 4WD vehicles the KDF use as a mode of transportation. It is a tough life these men and women experience to protect this country. They face danger, death and misery at the hands of the terrorist group Al-Shabaab.
I ask the Kenyan government to review these rates. These brave men and women deserve our respect not only by words of mouth but by actions that motivate and appreciate them

'What good is a man /woman who fight for a country that despises his/her worth?'
Picture a mother who has a son fighting  in Somalia. He comes home for rest before embarking on the tough military journey. The son's skin, spirit, and health defaced by the tough conditions in Somalia. The mother asks how much her son is paid in hardship allowance. The son says Kes.20 per day. She mourns and cries for her son. The son says he fight with his heart, he fights for his country. That is patriotism!!
BUT what has his country done for him?????
GOOD DAY FOLKS!

THE NAIROBI HUSTLER

It is very interesting to see the number of unemployed youth and entrepreneurs who tarmac counties and cities in this country in search of that special job and business venture.  The Nairobi Hustler is one such man. Whether he/she is looking for business or employment, the man/woman never gives up.

"How are you doing people?......I hope you are all fine.....This is your captain speaking.... I just want to highlight some truths about you all. You can share your honest views via your comments.''

CHARACTERISTICS OF A NAIROBI HUSTLER.

A NH has a sincere desire to overcome challenges. He/She never gives up. e.g This man/woman will exhaust all the avenues of applying for a job. He makes that application on the day the job is advertised. Any real hustler will tell you that there are at least three ways: via email, via the box address, via hand delivery. He might not get feedback but he/she dusts himself/herself off for another day.
A NH is never pleased with the way organizations or governments run their businesses. They always have something to say about it. It may be positive or negative depending on how they feel about the situation at the time.
A NH is constantly evaluating things and hoping to make them better. You will hear about those stories of solving our jam problems in the evening and mornings. They come up with very good ideas that can actually work if they are listened to.
A NH initiates a dynamic change or should I say a paradigm shift through ideas, policy formulations and much more. A good example is the civic society that strives to fight for human rights and development through the constitution and law amendments.
A NH works really hard. It may be putting in more hours at work to complete a task before the deadline. It may be looking for a job in all the available places.
A NH is an opportunist. He/She will see an opportunity and grab it. He/She never loses sight of the importance of  time. He/She does not wait to be asked questions.He/She will find the solutions for those problems that might come with that opportunity.
A NH is constantly challenging his/her knowledge through education, reading and learning. They seek help where their ability is limited. They learn from mistakes and ensure they do not repeat them.
A NH is energized when discussing how to make a vision or a mission successful. They are passionate about issues at hand.

I urge you to pay your respects to the Nairobi Hustler. Here is how you will spot an unemployed hustler;
He walks in almost torn or old shoes, always wears the same shirt two or three times a week and if it is nice once a week on an important mission. They only unleash one of their old suits during important job interviews and by this time they need belts to hold their trousers to their waists, well, due to weight loss caused by walking  from company to company searching for those employment opportunities and without food for the whole day. When they speak, they are always hopeful. They believe in God and His utmost power.

Are you a hustler?......Well...tell your friends...........

SAFARICOM CONMEN HAVE UPGRADED

It was Monday, May 16th 2011 at exactly 9.02 a.m when I received a call from an alleged safaricom employee who informed me that I had won an amount of Kshs. 50,000 through their Send money with M-PESA promotion. I was super excited but wait a minute, I hadn't heard or seen any advertisement from the reputable company on the same. Something was not right.

The man on the other end-phone number 0788388794 was very persistent. He probed on very financially sensitive issues such as my M-PESA balance and what have you. The way he did it,I could tell he was brilliant but fishy.Well, I played along to see where the game would take me.

After all was said, now it was time to do. He asked me to get on another line that he was going to call me on so that I could follow some simple instructions using my phone. This is how the conversation went down:

Conman: Go to your M-PESA option and get to the drop down menu
Me         : Yes
Conman: click on the ATM Withdrawal option
Me         : Yes
Conman:  Enter the Agent number 555555
Me         : aaaa......mmmm....Yes
Conman: Enter your PIN number.....Don't tell me...that is your secret.....Don't ever disclose it to anyone!
Me         : oooook....(mind you...I was not at all doing all these things he was telling me to...he thought I was)
Conman:  What is your authorization code?
Me         : Wait a minute!.....Can I ask you a few questions?....you know before we can continue...
Conman: Sure Mr. Me.....what do you want to know?
Me        : Well..since you work for safaricom, could you please tell me the transaction details of my M-PESA   account  for the past three days...
Conman: aaaaa...Sir....Please just follow the Instructions and stop asking too many questions....Safaricom is a big company....If you don't need the money,we could give it to somebody else...(the tone of his voice was changing...like that of somebody who was very frustrated)
Me        : I appreciate the award but why do I have to go through all this trouble just to get that  amount of money?...I have not heard of any M-PESA promotions in the media or from Safaricom herself...Are you trying to con me?
Conman: Please listen Sir...you can choose to trust me or not...BUT at the end of the day It will be your lose...
Me         :.....I don't really feel comfortable doing this.....so Thank You BUT...No thank you.....(I turned down their offer and I hang up.....)

UPGRADED: HOW THEY DO IT.

  • They are very intelligent.
HOW TO BEAT THEM:
  • Don't send any amount of money for your reward.
  • Don't give out your pin number to anyone else-It is your ultimate secret.
  • Don't disclose your financial information to a stranger.
  • Inquire about any promotions and rewards with the company concerned.
  • Trust your instincts.
  • Don't give in to a stranger's game plan.
I hope this article enlightens you all. The con men are here and trust me, they have upgraded.
